COVID19 EMC Updates

Advisory for Ecclesial Year 2021-2022

Greetings in the Name of our Savior Jesus Christ!

In our last Advisory regarding the Worship Services during the pandemic, we said that our virtual services will continue up to May 2021. Given that the new Ecclesial year is just around the corner, the Ministerial Team took the time to consult our medical professionals on two important items:

  1. Advice on the vaccination for Covid 19.
  2. On the risk of exposure in relation to physical gathering for worship.

The responses from our doctors have yielded a clear consensus.

  1. Advice on the vaccination for Covid 19.

We SHOULD get vaccinated. Kindly consult your local LGUs and DOH recommendations on Vaccine roll-outs in your area. The general consensus is that the “best vaccine is what is available.”

  1. On the risk of exposure in relation to physical gathering for worship.

NO physical gatherings. We SHOULD continue with Virtual Services as face-to-face services will unnecessarily expose a lot of vulnerable groups to the virus.

Therefore, taking into account the shared wisdom of our medical professionals, the Church Council in its virtual meeting held on 3 April 2021 approves the recommendation of the Ministerial Team as follows:

A. That we follow the advice of our Medical Professionals and evaluate the situation every semester.
B. We shall continue with Virtual Services from June to November 2021.

COVID19 EMC Updates

27 May 2020 – Circular Letter from the Ministerial Team

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our country continues to struggle with cases of COVID-19. Regardless of the mode of Community Quarantine, either Enhanced, Modified or General, the EMC Ministerial Team would like to stress that your RIGHT to worship freely is not being challenged.

It is the church’s response to Jesus’ great commandment to “love one another” that is being challenged.

We read in John 13:34-35:

“And now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have love you, so you must love one another. vIf you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are My disciples.”

John 13:34-35:

The sanctuary of our church has been closed since the community quarantine began. The CHURCH, the community of faith, has NEVER been closed.

We believe that worship is ESSENTIAL. We however also recognize the potential harm that gathering in the sanctuary will cause to parishioners and the communities that our parishioners return to.

It is in this regard that we recommend for ALL to stay at home. Worship WILL CONTINUE as you gather your household and as we strive to ‘gather’ virtually.

The Ministerial Team will monitor the advice of our government agencies and inform Ellinwooders when we may gather again in our sanctuary. One thing the MinTeam will NOT do is to rush back and satisfy our eagerness to congregate.

Let “love and compassion” for one another be our testimony so that everyone will know that we are Jesus’ disciples.

God bless,

Ministerial Team

COVID19 EMC Updates

To All Ellinwooders: A Circular Letter from the Office of the Senior Pastor

It is with much prayer and concern that I take this time to address everyone of my intention to provide an awareness of what has been with all of us in the EMC Community Family in the weeks since the declaration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), sharing my thoughts on our course heading into the “New Normal” after this COVID- 19 ECQ lifting. Every intention shall also be made to send this message out through various channels of social media in addition to our official church website through the help and courtesy of Pastor Bobby Alguso and IT experienced church members.

Given the rapid speed of change in the guidelines issued by the Local Government Units (LGUs), the National Government, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Covid-19 and other related entities, information may at times be outdated sooner rather than later. Please know that We, your Ministerial Team, are doing our very best to provide a meaningful means of keeping our faith celebration standard in a very timely way – not shying from contemporary means – while staying true to the call to witness and serve our community and the people we minister to. I encourage everyone to be patient with us as well as with each other, exercising the discipline of reminding each of us to stay safe, stay healthy and keep the faith as we journey in times like these..

COVID-19 Advisory

Dear Ellinwooders,

Given the recent announcements on March 12, 2020 by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte regarding the country’s response to the COVID-19 issue, your Ministerial Team has deemed it necessary to suspend public Worship Services beginning March 15, 2020 until further notice. The call for a “Community Quarantine” is for the church to help in minimizing the spread of the virus.

ALL other church activities are also CANCELLED until further notice.

On Sundays, the main sanctuary will be open from 7AM to 11AM and from 2PM to 4PM should worshippers/ parishioners come for prayer and meditation. The Pastors will be available during this time for spiritual guidance.

Meanwhile, Sunday Liturgies will be converted as Sunday Worship Guides for family worship time at home.

Meditation guide will be made available at the foyer and will be made available in the internet and the most available social media services beginning March 15.

Social distancing will be strictly observed.

Brothers and sisters, we also implore you to pray for one another. Let us pray first for those who are sick that in Jesus’ name, God’s healing hand be upon them. Let us pray for the Medical Practitioners who are on the front lines of this crisis that God’s divine protection be upon them as they become instruments of God’s healing. Let us also pray for calm and common sense to be upon us and that this crisis will teach us to grow deeper in faith.

Let us include in our daily prayers the present situation and that we may come to understand God’s leading and direction of how we are to respond in faith in this most trying of times.

Let us be assured of the words of the apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6:

“Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking Him with a thankful heart. And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.”

God’s blessings and protection be upon us all. Amen.
