Conductor: Sis. Vera Pepito-Acosta ; Pianist: Glen Cantada

The Ellinwood Chancel Choir has long been part of Ellinwood’s dynamic music ministry. This choir which sings at the 9:30 AM English worship service has been led by renowned conductors such as Viola Rich Smith, Emilia Reysio-Cruz, Flora Zarco-Rivera, Sally Cuadra-Salcedo, Lois Florendo-Bello, Macrina Geconcillo, Lilies Kapili, Rhoda Isidro-Pepito, Jerry Dadap, Elmo Makil, Rey Paguio, Julie Ani, Ricardo Mazo, Jr., Sal Malaki and Rev. Don Espina. Presently, the Chancel Choir is being conducted by Vera Pepito-Acosta and accompanied by Glen Cantada.

With around 40 members, the Chancel Choir is the biggest choir in Ellinwood. They are known for singing both sacred and contemporary gospel music. The breadth and depth of their music is reflected not only by the age of its members ranging from 25 to 80 years old, but also by their varied years of experience in singing in church.

For years, the Chancel Choir has led fund-raising efforts for the church and has gone on outreach visits to Baguio, Quezon, Bataan, Cavite, La Union, Dipolog, and Negros Oriental.  In 2012, the Chancel Choir shared their love of music during the “Sounds of Christmas” event at Robinsons Place Manila.

As the church celebrates another decade of God’s faithfulness, the Chancel Choir continues to reflect their passion for music as they recognize of the presence of God in their lives, which is reflected in the words of one of their most loved anthems: “I may not be all that you are. I may not be a shining star. But what I am, I thank the Lord for making me His child.”
