“The Equipping Of God’s Wise Servants”
One of the most exciting things for a first time father or mother is when they hear their child speak their first word, which is usually “dada” or “mama.” That excites every parent for it gives them a sense of deep attachment and of love. But as the child grows, more words are coming out and surprisingly, the other words they learn to speak is something that reflects the very nature of humankind, and that word is, “me” or “mine.” This is very true especially when a child learns to play with toys with their siblings or playmates. The child begins to shout declarations of ownership, authority and territory. The child would say, “This is mine” or “Get away from me.” This goes on until a child becomes self-absorbed, self-centered and self-consumed. The worst thing that could happen is, when a child grows up claiming a principle that says, “I should only live for myself and my own happiness is all that matters.” Would you allow that to happen?
